My ATR progress-week13
started my physio last week. I had 3 sessions and
It's pretty helpful with my recovery. My bad leg
is a bit weak when the physio asked me to do
heel lifts.
I can walk a bit faster now but still can't go down
the stairs using my 2 legs alternately..

No-OP post recovery
I had a 2nd rupture last 11-26-2011 while playing badminton on my left leg.
My first one was 3 years ago and got it from the same reason--while playing badminton.
Had a surgery the first time but now, i just don't feel like going into the same thing again.
I did a lot of research about non-surgical procedure and it gave me hope that i can and will recover without having one.
01-30:Week 10 after 6weeks in cast and 2 weeks of nwb.
Progress after 2 wks of NWB: i tried to walk or put a little weight on my injured foot with crutches.
Weird feeling when my foot started to touch the floor. Gradually I'm walking on it slowly but with two crutches.
But I was confused because I read a lot blogs which mentions of using boots or air cast on the bad leg after 4-5 weeks of cast. I guess it is just not the norm here in Malaysia to use boots or air cast. The ortho doctor wanted
me to have surgery but I really insist of not having one. So he put me into fiber cast for 6weeks and no
instruction or whatsoever on what to do with it.
After 6weeks, i came back to see him in the hosp to remove the cast. After that he just told me not to put
weight on it for another 2weeks and that's it, nothing more, again! It's really frustrating when you're not
told of what to do and what to expect after all the hassle of being in cast... Perfect example of a man with few words I guess....
Well anyway, i called him just to say that I'm starting to walk without support and asked him if I can have my
Physio already and he just said, yeah sure come here if you need referral..
Next week i will start my therapy and I'm just so excited to start with my rehabilitation; full of hope that I'll
be ok soon.
